Legal Aid for Victims of the Khmer Rouge

LAC’s head office in Phnom Penh has the unique opportunity to defend victims of the Khmer Rouge Victims at the ECCC (Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia).The Khmer Rouge team of LAC cooperates with CHRAC, CDP, CSD and other NGOs to coordinate the role of the victims in the court. The ECCC is the first international war tribunal where victims can actively participate by filing a complaint or by applying to join the procedure as a civil party. After 30 years of impunity LAC feels that we have to participate in this historical event to try to seek reparation for the victims of the deadline regime. At LAC we feel we are writing history with our project.
